Khaleda Zia's appeal against cancellation of nomination papers

The Election Commission has appealed against the decision to cancel the three nomination papers of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Bogra-6 Barrister Nawshad Jamir and Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder for Bogra-7 seats submitted the appeal to the Election Commission Secretariat on Wednesday for Khaleda Zia's favor.

On December 2, the Returning Officer of Feni and Bogra declared the cancellation of three nomination papers of Khaleda Zia after the verification. Referring to the reasons for the cancellation of the nomination papers, the Election Commission has said that the punishment for more than two years in the corruption case was canceled.
